At last week's session of the Sumy city council approved the investment program in the treatment of MSW in Sumy, proposed by one of the current operators for the export of solid waste in the city GreenCo-Sumy company.
The program is designed for the next five years and involves the introduction of the Sumy European experience of waste management through the establishment of closed-loop treatment of solid waste.
As explained by the deputies, GreenCo Board Chairman, Sergei Sokur, today only through an integrated approach to the management of solid waste can be radical at the national level to solve the acute shortage of new landfills, waste the resources of existing space and to conform to the latest environmental standards - problems that gave rise to a huge number of unauthorized landfills. The basis of modern solid waste management system - minimizing waste, separate collection, recycling (recycling) and the safe disposal of waste that can not be reused. To implement such a system in Sumy company GreenCo offers step by step to implement the nine projects, the first of which (and, perhaps most important for the successful launch of the program) - to establish a system of separate collection of solid waste.
According to the investment program for the Sumy planned to acquire 1 890 containers for separate collection of the total amount of 5 670 000 UAH, four vehicles to service the container park on a sum - 4 160 000 UAH. Thus, in a project to introduce separate collection of the investor plans to invest about 10 million UAH.
